Let’s face it, no matter how much you love winter, living in New England forces you to truly appreciate the summer months. Sure, hitting the slopes is a ton of fun, but the thought of waking up and tossing on a pair of shorts and a T-shirt to head outside for the day has to put a smile on your face! It’s hard to believe it’s already August 9th and September is right around the corner. This is my plea to get outside and carve out time to do what you love. Take advantage of the remainder of summer and cooler sweatshirt weather before winter creeps in.
The summer of 2017 has been a great one. I have spent time on the beach, gone to a Red Sox Game with a fellow US Wealth Advisor, had time at the lakes in NH, spent a weekend in Newport… the list could go on, and I am determined to make sure it will. I will be traveling to Lake Placid for a friend’s wedding later this month with the intent of mountain biking and enjoying the outdoors. Only two weeks later, my family is going to spend a few days on Lake Winnipesaukee before my cousin gets married. It will be the first time in 2017 all six of us will be together at the same time, and we’re all looking forward to it!
My largest hobby, as most of you know, is being a grease monkey. Generally speaking I do that all year around (my girlfriend, Jenna, can attest… thankfully, she is patient). It can be a little chilly in the winter without heat in my new garage, but when you’re determined to finish a project not much can slow you down. To be honest, it’s more of a deterrent when the weather is nice! I don’t want to be under the hood of my pickup truck while its 85* out and sunny… that’s beach weather! One driving force in the fall is prime time for horsepower junkies like me to show off and test what they have been working on all year. The roads are clean, the weather is great, and with colder air comes more power! The race track is open until Halloween night this year, and I already have a few trips on my calendar to show off my little red pickup.
While I am anxious to slap on sticky tires and see what the truck is made of, I’m soaking in today and making the most of what is left of bathing suit weather, and I hope you are all doing the same!
